There are two kinds of pure cotton yarns that we commonly use: combed yarn and carded yarn.

The combed yarn contains less impurity, less short fiber, more thorough separation of single fiber, and better elongation balance of fiber.

Carded yarn is mainly refined after the long staple cotton spun yarn and cotton blended yarn.

Generally referred to as combed yarn, the content of long-staple cotton is basically between 30-40%. If you want more high-grade yarn, it is necessary to stipulate the content of long-staple cotton in the yarn, generally between 70-100% content, and the price difference will be great.  If customers do not have special requirements, generally use 30-40% long staple cotton, usually 50 yarns. The content of long staple cotton above 70 yarns is generally between 80-100%.

Common carding yarn is mostly used for low-grade grey cloth, mainly used for 30 and 40 yarns.

How to distinguish combed yarn and carded cotton?  After fabric processing and dyeing, it is very easy to distinguish between combed or combed cotton yarn.  We can tell from the surface of the fabric.  The surface is smooth and clean, without too much hair, the feeling is very delicate is generally combed cotton, on the contrary, it is generally carded cotton yarn.
